The administration building of the sawmill Mayr Melnhof wood Paskov is a combined brick-work and timber construction, whereby the ground floor masonry construction works optically as a base for the wood bolt of the upper floor.
The ground floor, which includes social rooms, locker rooms for 240 employees and a kitchen with operating food hall, consists of a reinforced concrete structure filled with brick work, while the upper floor is designed as a pure timber construction.
The timber construction of the upper floor is made of a structural composite lumber supporting structure and thermal insulated wall panels. A second outer skin from larch wood lamellas protects the timber construction of the outer skin on the inside and filters the sunlight into the wide glassed office space.
